This is the second thread in my series of Diet/Exercise/and my personal journey of self discovery as I look to get healthy.
Update: As of today I've calculated that I've walked a grand total of 47 miles this month. I think I've walked 47 miles in all of last year.
It started out with small steps (no pun intended) in May and June and has balooned into
1. 15 minute afternoon break walks
2. 25 minute walk to the wifes work walk
3. 40-45 minute when I get home walks
I do items 1 and 2 Monday - Friday and Item 3 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and sometimes Sunday.
The walking is so stress relieving and when I walk alone it allows me time to think about what i'm trying to do, allows me to release work related stress.
When I walk with my wife it is bringing us closer together and has given us both motivation to continue down the trail of self discovery.
I've become even more motivated and philoshophical about all aspects of my life and am living life with a purpose, not just drifting like a leaf on the wind.
Here is something I wrote yesterday to someone that really sums up my demeanor these days.
I've set a course for self discovery and have discovered that you will never reach those distant shores without help from your crew

• Family
• Co-workers.
The waves battering against your ship are obstacles not road blocks. You are the captian of your own ship, It is your responsibility to navigate everyone through the obstacles of life so everybody can reach the journeys end.
I've given myself chills re-reading it because it truely is part of my heart and I have take it upon myself to live out that message.

| I've very happy for you Rhene! It's amazing what someone can accomplish when they know it's a lifestyle change and don't expect immediate results but know it will take time. And it's amazing how you feel about yourself when you start feeling and seeing those changes and know you worked for them! Keep it up! |
