I didnt really get into LOTR. but i am having a smash up time playing STO. I started and lvled a Federation toon to Rear Adminral Grade 5 (lvl cap, he is a eng/Star Cruiser), got kinda bored and am currently playing a Captain grade 3 Klingon Tac/Bird of Prey. Klingons rely probably 80% on pvp for their XP... if you remember i wasnt a big fan of PvP... but im having a ball playing the klingon toon!!
Honestly, its similar to wow pvp where the horde wins 80% of the time. Same with klingons ... .i dont get it. |

I was true back in the day of Star Trek MU*s, too. On one I played, the admins of the game had to 'enhance' the Federation ship stats (and nerf the Klingons) because the Klingons kept beating them so badly in combat.
And we STILL kept beating them, even with nerfed ships... I'll never forget the time the Feds came to our starbase to 'teach us a lesson' and make demands of us... and left at high warp because the only two Klingon ships available to defend at the time toasted two Fed ships (and nearly got another--and yes, this was after the enhance/nerf!)...

Kel, I didn't get into LOTRO either the first time. In fact, I didn't really like it at all. But I tried it again, this time kicking and screaming(Ask Pach) and loved it. Already got a minstrel to 41 and that was after getting a runekeeper to 36 before figuring out that I wanted to play a different class.
I think LOTRO is the first game that doesn't have the cookie cutter spec of the month. Pick a set of traits and there is no one setup that is the best. Gives lots of room to play around and find your playstyle. :) |
